Apple Introduces The New Apple Home lineup

Apple has officially reveal their new Apple Home hardware lineup. The suite aims to make Apple’s ecosystem the central nervous system of the house, combining entertainment, voice control via Siri AI, security, and climate management with the seamless setup users expect from an iPhone.

The star of the announcement is Apple HomeView, the company’s long-rumored smart home hub. It features a 7-inch square Liquid Retina display with 1088×1088 resolution at 220 ppi that sits on a rounded speaker base connected by a stainless-steel tilting hinge, echoing the design language of the classic iMac G4. A wall-mounted version is also available.

The tabletop model comes in silver, starlight, rose pink, and space gray; the wall-mounted version is limited to silver and space gray. Both cost $299. Preorders opened October 13, 2026, with availability starting November 13, 2026, in the U.S., UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, India, and select other markets.

Powered by an A18 chip, HomeView handles FaceTime calls with a 12MP Center Stage camera, music playback with a custom acoustic system, photo slideshows, calendar, and smart home controls. It recognizes up to six household members by face and personalizes the interface accordingly, while keeping private data (Messages, Calendar) gated behind facial recognition and a nearby unlocked iPhone or iPad. The display can drop to 0.3 nits for use as a bedside clock and supports True Tone. It also serves as a Matter controller and Thread Border Router.

HomePod mini 2 and Apple TV 4K Refresh

The HomePod mini 2 ($149) keeps the familiar spherical form but arrives in softer colors matched to current iMacs: pink, green, blue, white, and midnight. It gains an S10 chip, improved computational audio, a new “Sound Glow” lighting effect that reacts to music and album art, and the ability to serve as a default speaker for compatible Macs. It can form stereo pairs, multiroom systems, and, with the new Apple TV, automatic room calibration. Siri AI arrives via a later software update. Preorders started October 13; shipping begins October 30.

The fourth-generation Apple TV 4K jumps to $299 (a notable increase from prior generations). It features an A19 chip (claimed up to 50% faster CPU and 2× GPU performance), built-in far-field microphones for hands-free Siri (responses appear on-screen), Wi-Fi 7, Thread, AV1 hardware decoding, and a single 128GB configuration with Ethernet. A standout feature is support for up to four HomePods a mix of mini 2 and full-size HomePod 2 allowed with matching front/rear pairs for true surround sound with automatic positioning and calibration. The updated Siri Remote supports Precision Finding and can play a sound when located via Bluetooth Channel Sounding. Preorders opened October 13; availability begins November 13.

Apple Home Collection with LG and Schneider Electric

Apple is also selling a coordinated line of accessories developed with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric. These work natively in the Home app with one-tap NFC setup on iPhone, no separate manufacturer accounts required. Availability begins in December (select items in early 2027). U.S. starting prices include:

LG Indoor Cam Plug-In - $199.95
LG Outdoor Cam Plug-In - $299.95
LG Floodlight Cam - $399.95
LG Video Doorbell Wired - $249.95 (dual cameras)
LG Smart Deadbolt Lock - $349.95 (Ultra Wideband for hands-free approach unlock with iPhone/Apple Watch)
LG Smart Thermostat - $199.95
Schneider Home Smart Thermostat - $199.95
Temperature/room sensors - $39.95 each

Both thermostats support Adaptive Temperature based on occupancy. Cameras are HomeKit Secure Video compatible and support Apple Intelligence features such as camera summaries on eligible iCloud+ plans. Regional availability varies; not all products ship to every market at launch.

Conclusion

Whether this finally gives Apple a meaningful foothold in the connected home will depend on real-world reliability of Siri AI, the quality of the LG and Schneider hardware, and how seamlessly the pieces work together once they arrive in the coming weeks and months. For Apple households that have been waiting for a proper hub, the “Welcome Home” lineup is the clearest invitation yet.
