iOS 16.5 Key Features


 

Apple has released iOS 16.5, the latest version of its mobile operating system for iPhone. The update includes a number of new features and bug fixes, including:

A new Sports tab in the Apple News app that provides easy access to scores, standings, and news for your favorite teams and leagues.

The ability to donate to Apple's charitable partners directly from the Lock Screen.

New Siri commands for controlling Apple Pay Cash.

Bug fixes for issues that could cause Spotlight to become unresponsive and Podcasts to not load content in CarPlay.

iOS 16.5 is available now as a free update for all eligible iPhones. To install the update, go to Settings > General > Software Update.

The new Sports tab in the Apple News app provides easy access to scores, standings, and news for your favorite teams and leagues. You can also follow your favorite teams and leagues to get real-time updates.


Donate to Apple's charitable partners from the Lock Screen

With iOS 16.5, you can now donate to Apple's charitable partners directly from the Lock Screen. Simply swipe down to open the Today View and tap the "Donate" button. You can then choose from a list of charities to support.


New Siri commands for Apple Pay Cash

iOS 16.5 adds new Siri commands for controlling Apple Pay Cash. You can now use Siri to send, request, and receive money, as well as check your balance.


Bug fixes

iOS 16.5 also includes a number of bug fixes, including fixes for issues that could cause Spotlight to become unresponsive and Podcasts to not load content in CarPlay.
