NASA Sends Squids To Space

NASA has sent a dozen baby Hawaiian bobtail squid to the international space station. The Squids was raised at the University of Hawaii.

Researcher Jamie Foster is conducting a study to see how spaceflight affects the squid. Foster is hoping to find something that can help human health during long space missions in the future.

"We have found that the symbiosis of humans with their microbes is perturbed in microgravity, and Jamie has shown that is true in squid" - Margaret McFall-Ngai

The squids will come back to earth in July 2021.
